Anything by Hill Country
Fare
It's usually MUCH cheaper than the Brand Name stuff and usually
better. Try the cereal bars, the oatmeal, THE CEREALS! Try the HCF
Raisin Bran. Huge, juicy raisins! The HCF version of Apple Cinnamon
Cheerios: cost much less, taste just as great! What else? The soups,
the soft drinks, frozen veggies, salsa, condiments, frozen concentrated
OJ, etc. Most anything you buy from Hill Country Fare is DELICIOUS
and tons o' mullah cheaper. Only available at HEB, of course.
Housewife Notes: Hill Country
Fare is the store brand of HEB, a popular Central Texas grocery
chain. At the height of my blind taste test frenzy, I pitted the
Hill Country Fare frozen chicken tenders against two leading brands
and was amazed to learn that, besides being significantly cheaper
and tastier, they were actually made from genuine chicken,
rather than the texturized chicken loaf of the others. Unfortunately,
they disappeared for a while & I'm not sure if they're back yet.
I also enjoy Hill Country Fare cinnamon graham crackers, but I'd
stay away from the spaghetti sauce.
